Multipliers celebrate in Cincinnati
A lost pup, a star, and a storm
Co-facilitator Maggie Bertrand, a senior consultant at BTS who's been coordinating our parties from coast to coast for the past several months, won't soon forget our Cincinnati event held June 10 to celebrate the launch of the Multipliers simulation.
She had to scramble when our popular photo booth pup got lost in transit after the New York party June 2. She managed to have the 8-foot banner reprinted and rushed to Hyde Park Golf & Country Club just in the nick of time.
Then, when she boarded her flight in Dallas, she found herself sitting next to J.D. Nicholas from the Commodores (he joined the group after Lionel Richie left to pursue a solo career and sang on their 1985 Grammy-winning hit, Nightshift).
Fortunately, Maggie's flight to Cincinnati was otherwise uneventful, and she, the pup and our guests were able to arrive before pouring rain triggered a blast of sirens to warn the golfers they should all come inside.
Despite the storm, participants enjoyed the day learning to identify "multiplier moments," turning points when a leader's behavior can inspire others or discourage them. Often leaders don't realize they're accidentally diminishing the work of those around them. The Multipliers simulation helps them learn workarounds to change the dynamics and their results.
The Cincinnati launch party was part of a multi-city series bringing business leaders together to experience our simulation, which is based on the best-selling book, Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter, by Liz Wiseman.
Below are some photos from Cincinnati. Thanks to all who joined us there. We can't wait to see what happens next!
