Giving back

Every year, we at Advantage look forward to what has become one of our favorite traditions, the annual holiday give-back, a practice that originated 10 years ago for our organization as a whole, and farther back for some of our individual partners. These are special, complimentary events for our colleagues and friends that allow us to live our values and focus on sharing something helpful that can enrich someone’s life outside of our scope of business. Sometimes they also focused on helping a nonprofit or charitable organization.

This year’s event is THIS Friday, Dec. 13, at Noon Eastern and we would love for YOU to be there! One of our favorite L&D trainers, Rob Cordova, will share one of his most popular team-building activities — one that proves when we work together, we’re smarter than we think! It’s sure to be a lot of fun, and a great way to celebrate the upcoming holidays.

Here’s a little history:

The Advantage Give-Back began as in-person events regionally produced by individual Advantage partners.  When the pandemic hit and everything went virtual, we embraced a give-back mindset to focus on helping our clients and colleagues navigate the uncertainty.

That bloomed into a series of events through the generosity of our thought leader partners. We called it Pivoting Together in Challenging Times. As a result, the webinars, replays, and related takeaway tools from our 2020 series engaged more than 10,000 people. More importantly, participants told us, these resources and ideas helped them pivot, do better work, and inspire their teams.

In 2021, we continued with a new series we called Together We Create, designed to inspire and equip people to innovate in a world that had drastically changed.

Here’s a look at some of our other give-backs over the last decade as we celebrated our values together:

• 2015 – Advantage Partners Peg Ruppert and Amy Kahn in Cincinnati and Mary Steiner in Minneapolis held give-backs featuring our thought leader partner Kelly Dozois, who shared ways to build influence skills.
• 2016 – Cincinnati and Nashville give-back events focused on building emotional intelligence with BlueEQ.
• 2017 – Cincinnati – Culture Counts, ways to build culture
• 2018 –  Cincinnati – Unlocking workforce potential with our thought leader partner Christine DiDonato
• 2019 – Cincinnati – “Breathe & Succeed” Workplace Wellness with entrepreneur, author and consultant Sandy Abrams
