Neurodiversity and learning with Jessica Michaels from Adobe
We expect that somebody’s going to have a good handshake and make eye contact. They’re going to ask questions. All of those things are social constructs. None of those things have anything to do with how well you’re going to do on the job.
In the Hot Seat: Jessica Michaels creating neurodiversity programs within organizations to support the 30% affected by it.
Andy’s guest is Jessica Michaels, Talent Development Partner at Adobe and an expert in neurodiversity. She spent 20 years of her career hearing, “You’re meeting your goals, but you’re still failing.” At 39, she got the diagnosis that explained everything. She is now a neurodiversity coach, consultant, and educator offering support for neurodiverse adults with workplace and career challenges.
In this episode she explains the definition of neurodiversity and how it affects 30% of the world’s population; how organizations can create programs to support their people who struggle with it; and how neurodiverse learners can drive innovation.
