Pivoting together: An update from the 45-degree mark
We at Advantage would like to genuinely thank our clients for helping to remind us that the power of positive change is available to all of us.
A few weeks ago, I sent out an update on Advantage’s strategy during these times of change. My key message then was that the circumstances and events would reach deeply into our personal and professional lives and that we would get through this together. And we are.
The last 4 weeks of sheltering in place have felt more like 4 months. Although I try to limit my news consumption to 15 minutes in the morning and evening, there seems to be a week’s worth of changes every 12 hours.
Compared to 2 weeks ago, you don’t have to look far to spot the brightening skies around us. Like all calamities, COVID-19 has given us the opportunity to reprioritize, well, everything:
- Communities are coming together for the greater good.
- Emerging technologies and innovations are adding value to every facet of our lives.
- Relationships are being rekindled.
- And, we’re starting to think about what we want the world on the other side to look like.

Our partners at BTS had clients and colleagues on the front lines in Milan and across the Asian cities hit hardest during the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Those teams have drawn upon their experiences and created a 2-hour, live-virtual simulation experience, Leading in a Moment of Crisis, helping us to learn from their experience as leaders during this crisis and build resilience for the unknown changes yet to come.
