Background
E-BEAM Services is the largest contract electron beam provider in the U.S., committed to enhancing lives through the power of electron beam technology. Their focus is on delivering reliable, efficient, and innovative solutions while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Electron beam processing is a technology with a broad range of commercial applications. It provides users with an effective and efficient means to bring about useful changes in the properties and performance of polymers and other materials. The technology is also widely used for the sterilization of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.
The challenge
E-BEAM was experiencing rapid growth but realized that future expansion could be hindered by their team’s capacity to solve problems and implement changes effectively. To support this growth, they set objectives focused on improving training quality and speed, retaining top talent, and enhancing leadership effectiveness. Although they had supported their leaders from within, E-BEAM had not previously invested in formal leadership development and decided it was time to introduce foundational leadership skills to their team.
The solution
Advantage Performance Group developed a customized monthly leadership journey for E-BEAM, featuring 10 Managing Success modules. Each virtual workshop concluded with leaders documenting the actions they planned to take. The following month, sessions began with participants reporting on their progress and the impact of their actions. Senior leaders engaged in a 10-month learning journey, while supervisors participated in a 6-month program.
The Managing Success program provided a unified language and common tools for leaders across the organization. For the first time, leaders from different locations collaborated to develop their leadership skills and learn from each other. Participants reported feeling valued and recognized, which positively impacted their teams by prioritizing communication and engagement.
E-BEAM’s investment in leadership development has laid a solid foundation for continued growth and operational excellence. The next steps include expanding the program to other levels of the organization and integrating the leadership tools into daily operations.
