It costs employers 33% of a worker’s annual salary to hire a replacement. That’s $15,000 for a worker earning a median salary of $45,000. Add to that indirect costs including lost knowledge and time needed to select and onboard new hires.
Career development is cited most often as the reason people leave their job (22%), followed by work-life balance (12%), behavior of managers (11%), compensation (9%) and well-being (9%).
