Talent Development Tuesday
Building success in talent development – one thought at a time.
A seat at the table
“An organization’s ability to learn, and translate that learning into action rapidly,
is the ultimate competitive advantage.”
– Jack Welch
What do C-suite executives expect HR leaders to know about the business side of your organization?
The fact is, HR leaders need to reach beyond the people side of human capital management for an understanding of what matters most to the executive suite.
Linking talent development to business outcomes is a skill that can earn you a seat at the C-suite table. A line of sight between learning and business results is the foundation of every Advantage initiative.
If you’re able to do that, it’s more likely you’ll be able to get both a seat at the table and a budget for your next talent development initiative.
At a recent event, we introduced an HR-tailored edition of Interplay, the game-based, competitive simulation in which participants learn how to run a company and meet business challenges. (Watch a replay of our flyover here.)
As part of that event we also invited a panel of HR executives to join in a discussion on what they think HR and talent development leaders need to know most.
The discussion focused on the evolving role of HR professionals and their increasing need to understand and align with business strategies. The conversation explored the expectations of HR leaders from top executives, the impact of AI on HR practices, and how HR can contribute to organizational success by integrating business acumen, data-driven decision-making, and a focus on measurable outcomes.
