Action for a growth mindset

On our internal collaboration call yesterday, our special guest Christine DiDonato of Career Revolution shared some astonishing results from a 2023 pilot of her AccelerateME program with one of our clients, a global life sciences organization.

AccelerateME is a career and job development learning journey that helps employees take ownership of their career and helps managers support them. In turn, it also helps foster employee engagement, retention, and overall job performance and satisfaction.

Learners are guided through a self-discovery process to identify their energizers, values, and interests to create a clear set of growth goals. Then they are tasked with selecting development activities with their manager that not only align with their goals but also benefit the team. As a result of the pilot:

• 90% of participants agree or strongly agree that this program has helped them to uncover growth opportunities in their current organization.
• 98% have a 1-year growth goal that is clear or just needs a little refinement.
• A full 100% agree or strongly agree that they are leaving the program with specific development activities aligned to their career goal.
• 85% strongly agree that they are confident initiating growth conversations with their manager, a 35% increase from before the program.

At least 2 other surprising discoveries:

1. The AccelerateME digital platform helps nurture a sense of community and has generated spontaneous peer-to-peer mentoring as an added benefit.
2. AccelerateME was found to be beneficial for employees regardless of job level. Every career development journey is personal. Even corporate vice presidents found it helpful to review their strengths and values and channel those into their ongoing professional development.
