Talent Development Tuesday
Building success in talent development – one thought at a time.
The Big Easy
“Every time I close my eyes blowing that trumpet of mine, I look right into the heart of good old New Orleans. It has given me something to live for.”
– Louis Armstrong
Greetings from New Orleans!
Advantage Performance Group partners, marketing team, and thought leaders have come together this week from across the U.S. for our 2023 National Sales Meeting. One partner traveled here from Japan, and we also have our marketing intern here from Cyprus!
This is the first time we have all been together in person since March of 2020.
We kicked off our NSM last evening with a cocktail party on the 23rd floor of the Windsor Court Hotel followed by an incredible jazz concert at Preservation Hall. (See our Instagram reel).
Today we started with a session that looked back at our year of accomplishments and what’s ahead.
Then we walked to the New Orleans School of Cooking, where Chef René gave us a lesson in history and well as the culinary arts as we learned the difference between Creole and Cajun and cooked up Southern Crab Salad, BBQ Shrimp & Grits (fun fact: actually, there is no BBQ sauce in there if it’s authentic!), and Bananas Foster.
This afternoon we’re working on bringing to life the insights, special events, and resources we plan to share with you for the rest of the year.
Tomorrow we’ll get inspired and meet with some of our thought leader partners who have created the great solutions we bring to you, and we’ll finish up with our awards celebration at Commander’s Palace.
While we’re here together, we’re living our values – especially our spirit of abundance, creativity, and insightful collaboration, as we embrace this opportunity to be together, envision the future we want to create, and take steps together to make it happen.
Contact us or talk to your Advantage partner to learn more about what makes us unique, and why’d love for you to get to know us better.
This week has reinforced what we already know in our hearts: You’ll have no better colleague and partner for your quests in people development than Advantage Performance Group, because when you work with one of us, you’re really getting the best of all of us.
One great thing for 03.07.23 – One Habit podcast: Richard Hodge on the habit of gratitude
Advantage senior vice president–instructional design, a thought leader and researcher in leadership development. Richard discusses how he learned the core habit of generosity from a young age and the positive impact it has had on his career.
