‘If we could survive spreadsheets, we can survive AI.’

Artificial intelligence, writes Sonia Malik in Training Industry Magazine, “is set to drive a workforce transformation that we haven’t seen since the advent of the personal computer.” That transformation will see at least 75 million jobs lost, but 133 million new jobs take their place.

As an example, she cites the birth of spreadsheets, which reduced the demand for bookkeepers but amplified the need for accountants, auditors, financial managers, and analysts.

The massive job changes that accompany advances in technology bring with them a critical need for up-skilling and re-skilling initiatives to help employees keep up.
