Talent Development Tuesday
Building success in talent development – one thought at a time.
The most human of skills
“If you just communicate, you can get by. But if you communicate skillfully, you can work miracles.”
– Jim Rohn
OpenAI’s recent introduction of Sora, an AI model that creates vivid, realistic video from simple text prompts, is both a shocking and stunning feat that has us wondering if there will be any valuable creative skills for humans to pursue in the future.
Knowledge workers, creative artists, writers, editors, and filmmakers, especially, must feel the blow as AI turns their finely tuned crafts into a matter of prompts and outputs, then spits out results that are ever more polished and perfected.
While the future may belong to those who can efficiently prompt and manipulate the potential of AI to relieve us of not just the more mundane tasks but also to reach for new creative heights, we can’t help but think it also belongs to those who can make the most of our uniquely human skills.
What is it we as humans do best, that AI cannot? Is it our simple ability to make a human connection, to communicate with each other, and to understand each other?
With that in mind, we have a new event coming up in March we’d love for you to attend. It’s both a 1-hour flyover preview of Influencing with Story™ with our thought leader partner and communications expert Kelly Dozois of Ocean Beach Consulting on Friday, March 22, and an opportunity to attend the full live virtual experience with her on Tuesday, March 26.
As Kelly points out, stories compel others to listen. They can tap into our heads and hearts and draw our attention in a way that thoughts, data, and opinions, on their own, cannot. Storytelling is a learned capability. Influencing With Story™ is a dynamic, engaging learning journey that helps participants develop the skills to be effective influencers through the use of stories.
We invite you to join us at one or both events.
Contact us or talk to your Advantage partner to learn more about Influencing with Story and our other great learning experiences from Ocean Beach Consulting including Influence Inside™, Breaking Thru Bias™, and Managing Success™.
